Catholic Youth Ministry
Staff save time, communicate more effectively with members using self-building e-Newsletter feature in CMS
Our traffic has improved. Our registrants for one event doubled with the online system. The only question we hear now is: ‘What took you so long to make a website this good?’
Business Challenge
The Office for Catholic Youth Ministry (CYM), a Catholic Diocese of Wilmington organization dedicated to effective ministry in parishes and schools, needed a website to serve as a comprehensive resource center for its members and participants.
Before working with Bright Orange Thread, CYM's staff was using as many as 4 different platforms and editing programs to update 3 websites, 2 calendars, and a resource library. To make these resources readily available in a central location, CYM needed a flexible Content Management System (CMS) with effortless e-Newsletter integration.
Our Solution
- Flexible CMS. We created a flexible CMS that allows the client to switch out the latest featured resources on the home page with great ease.
- Categorized Postings. When adding new content, CYM can tag each posting under the appropriate category for easy search retrieval by participants, coaches, and staff.
- Self-building Newsletter. We customized the CMS with smart newsletter integration that enables "once-and-done" posting from site to newsletter template. To build a newsletter, CYM simply checks off the news or event postings already published on the site and the items are automatically added to the newsletter (which can be sent from the CMS as well).
Impact
Increased Event Registrations
Event registration is at a high for CYM because of the new online registration system. Attendees for one CYM event doubled through the system, while registration for another event filled within 2 weeks of the event posting.
Less Paperwork, Less Hassle
The online registration system saves CYM staff from filling out time-consuming paperwork for each registrant. The CMS coupled with the self-building newsletter feature eliminates the extra work required to regenerate content for CYM’s email newsletters.
