Hey CEO, Stop Thinking so Much
Hey, CEO, you’re thinking too much.
You’re sitting at the dinner table.
But your mind is somewhere else.
Another decision to make. Another fire to put out. Another night where work lingers long after you’ve closed your laptop.
I get it.
You care deeply about your business, your team, and your future.
Here’s the thing: the key to leadership—and even to good health—is not letting those thoughts take over.
If work becomes a weight on your soul, it’ll dampen your enjoyment of life.
Here are a few tips to help you stop thinking so much:
1. Build your circle of trusted advisors.
You don’t have to carry the weight of every decision alone.
Surround yourself with experts—financial advisors, operations pros, marketing geniuses, and tech specialists—so when those big questions start bouncing around in your head like a bad mind worm, you’ve got someone to turn to.
2. Learn to delegate (and trust it).
You know how to get things done. But that “I’ll just do this one extra thing.” mentality starts to add up fast.
The real key is learning to trust others when you delegate.
It’s not about doing everything yourself. It’s about empowering your team to share the load—and that takes trust.
3. Pour effort into something that’s not work-related.
Find a hobby or get involved in something outside of work.
Coach your kids’ sports team, dive into a nonprofit, or take on a creative project that excites you.
Do something that pulls you away from the work grind and makes you forget about emails, meetings, and tasks for a while.
4. Write it down.
When your worries start piling up, write them down.
Overwork is your silent business killer, and keeping everything in your head only adds to the stress.
Putting your concerns on paper frees up your mind and prevents them from endlessly spinning around.
Once you’ve got enough on your plate, hire someone to take it from there.
The point is this: you don’t have to carry it all on your shoulders.
You’ve built something incredible—now, take a step back from the endless loop of thoughts.
Delegate, trust the people around you, and most of all, take a load off to clear your mind.
