Site Launch: CACFP Delaware

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) of Delaware needed a to establish a stronger online presence that created a better user experience for their staff and audience. Their old site made it difficult for staff to update the site and for users to access important information.

With usability and budget in mind, Bright Orange Thread helped CACPF overcome this problem by developing a website with a clear navigation, easily accessible resources, inviting design, and a user friendly CMS to help the organization advance their mission.

Clear navigation easily directs audience

CACFP needed their site to serve three distinct audiences: prospective providers, home providers, and center providers. Whereas their old page had no way to distinguish the needs of these different users, the new information architecture clearly directs users to the resources that apply to them.

Easily accessible resources to educate providers

A searchable recipe database and an online policy manual make it easier than ever for providers to promote healthy diets and lifestyles in children. Providers can now download the forms and worksheets they need directly from the site. We also customized the CMS to ensure it is simple for CACFP staff to keep the site up to date.

Fresh design welcome users

BOT wanted to create a positive, healthy looking design to invite current and prospective providers to the site. The reds, pinks, and shades of green from the CACFP logo coupled with a funky font face create a friendly online environment.

Moving forward, CACFP’s site will be an asset to share resources, educate providers, and spread their mission to all Delaware daycare providers.
