The future of your company is your ideal client. 

Ideal clients bring joy.

Ideal clients bring profit.

Working with your ideal client grows your family-run business.

This means you’ll pass down a company greater than the questionable mustache your grandfather passed down to you.

We market and sell to people, and people make buying decisions.

You want to have a solid understanding of your ideal client.

You need to be intentional.

You need to write down your Ideal Client Profile (ICP).

Writing it down forces you to really think about the clients you want, the clients who bring joy.

The ICP breaks down your ideal clients's demographics, challenges, buying behavior, and even the burning questions keeping them up at night—questions you have the expertise to answer.

Your Ideal Client Profile drives your marketing success by:

Giving you the tools to speak your ideal client’s language.

It’ll be like knowing your client’s secret handshake.

You understand what your ideal client cares about.

So you’ll know what offers to promote vs not to promote.

You know what questions they’ll ask.

So you’ll know what expertise answers they’ll be searching for.

You can speak their language and use a tone they will connect with.

You can emphasize the value your brand brings to them.

You can give them a reason to buy from you, like…

  • “Better service than an online portal can provide”
  • “We never leave you out in the cold”
  • “Working with techs you actually like”

But you have to know what your ideal client wants and what questions they need answered.

Telling you where your ideal client “hangs out.”

People don’t jump on TikTok to improve the efficiency of their manufacturing floor.

People don’t jump on LinkedIn to find the best beauty products.

They go to whatever platform or place they think will have the expertise they need to solve their challenges and answer their questions.

If you know where they are, you can put together a plan to reach them.

Do they use Google to find IT support?

Then, you need a blog, a lead magnet, and perhaps a Google Ads campaign.

Do they ask friends or a trusted advisor for the name of an accountant?

Then, you need to develop a referral engine.

Are they scrolling through Facebook to find a general contractor?

Then, you need to launch a social media campaign.

Once you know where your clients hang out, you can develop the appropriate resources for those platforms.

Deliver helpful content for marketing success

Building impactful marketing that speaks your client’s language and tells you where they hang out means nailing down your Ideal Client.

You can’t deliver helpful content if you don’t know how or where to send it.

And helpful content is the start of any successful marketing.
