When RACI or DARE Fail, SHIT Happens

It’s 3:00 PM on a Tuesday.

You’re sitting in a conference room, surrounded by your team.

A hushed silence fills the room.

No one wants to step up.

The roles are unclear.

So, maybe you’ll try a framework to clarify roles.

     There’s RACI:

Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed

     There’s DARE:

Decider, Advisor, Recommender, Executor

But here’s the thing—the framework itself isn’t the issue.

If the leadership’s not up to par, no framework is going to fix your problems.

With good leadership, RACI or DARE will work.

     With poor leadership, SHIT happens:

Supervise, Hinder, Ignore, Thwart
