Your Process is NOT a Cage
“Structure is a bureaucratic cage that slows down innovation.”
Many growth-hungry leaders agree with this statement.
Their perspective is fundamentally flawed.
I recently had a conversation with Chris Corgnati, an EOS Implementer®, about this very topic.
We both observed a recurring mindset blockage: the entrepreneurial tendency to view process as constricting.
It reminded me of the classic strategic paradox attributed to Eisenhower: “Planning is everything, plans are useless.”
The real value isn’t the static document; it’s the dynamic, repetitive act of planning that allows you to adapt.
I am a strong proponent of systems like EOS because they prove the central thesis:
Process is not constricting; it is, in fact, liberating.
Systematic execution…
- reduces operational chaos
- minimizes cognitive load wasted on routine decisions
- creates the foundational consistency required for measurable growth
- allows innovations to be tested and adopted into the process
When the process is handled, your creative energy is liberated to focus on pure innovation.
