Grow Gallons By Sending This Email

In October, we illustrated why having Google reviews makes your website and company look more appealing and credible.

Now, we want to really dive deep into how you can grow your gallons by sending out emails requesting reviews. By following this guideline, you’ll gain a competitive edge and have positive reviews that reflect just how great your propane/oil company really is!

Why Reviews Matter

When it comes to researching a new company, the first thing someone is going to do is look at what other people are saying. In fact, a recent study shows that 84% of users report that they trust online reviews as much as a personal recommendation.

Reviews prove you exist and having few or none will make people question whether or not you are a legit propane/oil company. This will ultimately leave potential customers lukewarm about doing business with you.

A healthy amount of Google reviews will also improve your local SEO rankings and help your business get found more easily in searches.

When it comes right down to it, your company simply can’t afford not to have any online reviews. So how do you go about getting them?

Email Marketing: A Trusty and True Method

Email is a powerful tool. If used correctly, it can do wonders at establishing trust and openness to your client base.

With email, you are reaching out to customers who already recognize and trust you. This makes requesting something from them a whole lot easier.

When they see your name pop up in their inbox they think, “I know them, let me see what they have to say.” This means that right off the bat, they are more likely to take action.

You should regularly be sending your customers' useful emails that include offers, newsletters, and event invitations.

Incorporate one, or more, of these email marketing campaign ideas into the marketing that you’re already doing. See how a fresh view can take your business to a new level.

Timing Matters

Sending a well-timed invitation to review your business to your VIPs can make a big difference.

Even the most loyal of customers might not jump to leave you a good review if you wait more than a few days to ask for their feedback.

The sooner you send an email after a service or delivery, the fresher the experience will be in your customer’s head.

We recommend sending an email on the business day after you provide service. This will increase your chances of getting a good review!

Google Reviews vs. Other Options

Of course, you’re going to want your reviews to be positive no matter where they are. That said, Google reviews are arguably the most important.

Google is the most used search engine by far which means you want to be doing whatever you can to improve your Google search ranking. Having a collection of 5-star Google reviews will increase your position for relevant keywords and help you get higher on search results.

That is not to say that other review platforms, such as Facebook, are not important as well. Facebook is hugely popular and a part of many people’s daily routine. Also of note is that a Facebook review is more likely to ignite conversation than a Google review.

While your main concern should be Google, you will want to keep Facebook in the back of your mind as well.

What to Include in Your Email Request

Remember to keep it simple and make it as easy as possible for them to leave a review.

A quick message such as: “We thank you for your business and would love to hear from you in the form of a review!” can make a big difference!

Be sure to include a link to your Google My Business listing to make everything as seamless as possible.

Also, we highly recommend including a PS at the end of your email that requests they refer a friend. Why not use the opportunity to get new customers?
